Roger L. Perry
Roger L. Perry has been affiliated with
Lakehill Preparatory School
for more than 35 years, serving the school as Headmaster for the past 29 years. A graduate of
North Texas State University
(now
University of North Texas
), Perry earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Education. Perry joined Lakehill as a social studies teacher and coach in 1975.
During his time as Headmaster at Lakehill, the school community has grown 65%, from 242 students to the current enrollment of 400 students in kindergarten through grade 12. His vision and leadership led to the development of a second campus which bears his name. Built in 2001, the 17-acre Roger L. Perry Campus is home to the Warrior Athletic Complex, a premier facility that includes the Warriors’ Football Stadium, Baseball Field, Softball Field, Tennis Courts, and Field House. Perry’s strong commitment to the environment and to providing opportunities for children to explore nature, led to the inception of the
Alice
and
Erle Nye Family Environmental Science Center
, a state-of-the-art LEED-certified facility, which opened in 2009. The
Environmental Science Center
houses laboratories, classrooms, and meeting space, and offers more than 40 acres of untouched land to explore.
Perry has also offered his dedication and expertise to the educational community through a variety of board positions, including the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS), The Fulton School, and
Dallas Academy
.
Perry’s dedication to students and the educational community is matched by his commitment to improving and promoting the east
Dallas
area. He has served on the boards of Keep Dallas Beautiful, the Ferguson Road Initiative, East Dallas YMCA, Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, Clean Dallas East, and
New Covenant United Methodist Church
, and was an active member of the Lakewood Street Dance Committee. He is currently the Chair of the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce and a member of the White Rock Lake Centennial Celebration Host Committee.
Roger Perry feels strongly about the importance of service to others. He sets a positive example for all who know him, and inspires others to become actively engaged in their community. Each year, his students and staff complete thousands of hours of voluntary community service.

. He and his wife Virginia have two sons, both Lakehill alumni.
