Membership/Ambassadors Committee
The Membership committee will focus on attracting new businesses to the chamber that will support the board’s vision for the Greater East Dallas area. Additionally, Membership Ambassadors will assist in retaining members by keeping them as engaged in the chamber as possible.
This includes serving as:
- greeters at chamber events
- being primary points of contact for new members
- reaching out periodically by phone to touch base with existing members
Finally, the Membership committee will carry out ribbon cuttings, which are most in demand by new members joining at the $500+ membership level. This committee will work closely with the Marketing & Communications committee to ensure the Chamber is reaching all areas of east Dallas for a diverse membership that is representative of our community. The committee may set measurable goals to help track success and increase current membership levels. Membership committee meetings are scheduled on an as-needed basis. Marketing & Communications
The Marketing & Communications committee works closely with other committee Chairs to ensure successful special events, luncheons, networking events, summits, and forums. This committee strives to effectively communicate information to the Board, Membership, Public, and Media, and provide all of the necessary marketing materials for Chamber activities. This committee works closely with all other committees and the Chamber Board to effectively and resourcefully support the needs of our membership. Marketing & Communications serves to oversee the Chamber’s brand consistency, messaging, awareness, and overall image. Members interested in or experienced in the following areas are urged to join the Marketing & PR committee: Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Event Promotion, Social Media, Graphic & Web Design, Journalism, and Advertising. Meetings are held by Zoom every third Wednesday of the month at 9:00 a.m.

Legislative & Economic Growth
Part of the mission of the Chamber is to represent its members with issues involving federal, state, and local legislation and to provide useful information on the local economy. To accomplish this mission, the Legislative and Economic Growth Committee monitors business legislation and recommends positions to the Chamber and its Board of Directors. This committee also hosts forums to disseminate information to the members regarding political candidates and initiatives, as well as economic growth opportunities. These events, called Economic Insights & Legislative Leaders, are held quarterly. Committee meetings are called by the Chairs as needed (typically quarterly) and are usually held virtually.

Arts & Culture
The Arts & Culture Committee strengthens East Dallas by connecting local artists, arts and cultural organizations, businesses, and community leaders. Through creative partnerships, public engagement, and initiatives like Canvas & Commerce, the committee creates opportunities for artists, expands access to the arts, encourages collaboration with the business community, and enhances the economic and cultural vitality of East Dallas.

Community Education and Advancement
The Education Committee of the East Dallas Chamber of Commerce fosters strong partnerships between local businesses and schools to support education and workforce development. Key initiatives include the annual Teacher of the Year Award Reception, held during Teacher Appreciation Week, to honor outstanding educators. The committee also leads an "Adopt East Dallas Schools" program, connecting businesses with schools to provide resources and build relationships with students and families. Collaboration with the East Dallas Career Institute links students to local career opportunities, from internships to full-time roles, while engaging professionals as guest speakers. Additionally, the committee organizes networking opportunities for East Dallas school staff to share ideas, enhance collaboration, and strengthen ties between the education and business communities. Real Property
The Real Property Committee is responsible for the day-to-day operation and property management of the Losa Drive building owned by the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce. This committee is also responsible for managing any special projects as they pertain to the building. Committee meetings are scheduled on an as-needed basis. Technology
The Technology committee works closely with other committees, external partners, and the Chamber board to set the vision and execution of technology initiatives. The goal is to provide a robust set of technology services for Chamber members that provide value and to help them be successful. Current technologies include Website/Mobile/CRM platforms, Reporting, Social Media services, Payment/Billing, Web Conferencing, and Automation.
